Cameras - High Speed Camera Recorder 14.12.2006

New
Realtime JPEG Compression for all models

An optional 3000FPGA from Xilinx is used to provide realtime JPEG compression for the FC13 during recording. This feature extends recording duration up to 35 seconds. The following shows recording time for different compression ratios and different image content:

Low Compression –
Outside scene (rich content, good contrast)
    8 seconds

Low Compression –
less details, less contrast
15 seconds

High Compression –
outside scene (rich content, good contrast)
14 seconds

High Compression –
less details, less contrast
35 seconds

HighSpeed Camera

The model FC13 is the fastest camera within the family. At the resolution of 1.3 MegaPixels the camera delivers appr. 500 fps with a resolution of 10 bits. The camera can reach much higher frame rates if only a portion of the sensor is read out. During recording the image data are stored in internal memory. The recording can be controlled through manual or external trigger. In many applications it is difficult to estimate an interesting event. A circular buffer method helps to record continuously frames until an interesting sequence has occurred. In this case the user can either stop recording immediately or continue for a predefined number of frames (pre- and post trigger).

HighSpeed - HighRes Camera (HDTV)

The model FC40 offers a fascinating resolution of 4 MegaPixels at 10 bit, monochrome or color and a frame rate of more than 200 fps.

Through windowing the user can choose a true HDTV resolution of 1920 x 1080 (non interlased) and a slow motion frame rate of 320 fps.

HighSpeed - HighSensitivity

Light is always a common problem in high speed recording. Very often there is not enough light or light sources are to hot for the material to be illuminated. For such extreme conditions COSYCO offers intensified high speed cameras with either 1st, 2nd , 3rd or 4th generation intensifiers.
