Cameras - High Resolution Cameras From IMPERX 14.8.2007

New
Imperx Lynx (Noise reduction with new cooling option)

Cameras of the Lynx series with 4/11/16 megapixel are now available in a thermoelectric cooled version.

Adding Peltier-effect thermoelectric cooling actively controls the temperature of the Lynx camera's extremely large CCD at a 20º C level, stabilizing the device’s sensitivity, dark current and noise for applications where these parameters are limiting factors.
This new cooling option makes large-format Lynx cameras, suitable for the most demanding scientific and industrial applications where sensitivity, dark current and noise variations have made it difficult or impossible to take advantage of smart cameras with large-format CCDs in the past.

16 MegaPixel Camera

The new model IPX-16M3 from Imperx is available with Camera Link or GigE Interface. Setting the camera in dual tap mode its frame rate achieves 3 fps at the high resolution of 4.872 x 3.248 Pixels. The sensor size is appr. the size of film for standard photo cameras i.e. 36.07 mm x 24.05 mm at a pixel size of 7.4 µm.

GigE - Gigabit Ethernet Interface for all Imperx Models.

With Gigabit Ethernet interface Imperx has added an outstanding feature to the attractive family of its Lynx camera models. All Lynx GigE cameras are identical with their well known Camera Link versions such as programmability, firmware library, exposure control, trigger input and even auto iris control.

All GigE cameras are supported by following software packages

  • LabView
  • Image Pro
  • Halcon
  • Video Savant
  • MIL
  • eVision
  • Common Vision
  • and others.

Beyond third party software COSYCO offers a free standard software package as well as VB and a C++ SDK library.

Operating systems include Red Hat Linux and Windows 2000/XP

The LYNX series of cameras is based on Kodak's interline transfer CCD chips.
The series starts with VGA resolution at 210 fps and goes up to 11 mega pixels with a maximum frame rate of 5fps. The firmware can be upgraded and/or special functions implemented in the field. All it needs is to get the software from Imperx without sending the camera back.

Features of the LYNX series:

  • Selectable resolution (8, 10 or 12 bits)
  • Monochrome or color
  • Aspect ratio 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9 ( HDTV and/or 1080i )
  • Binning (horizontal, vertical)
  • Global shutter
  • Long-term integration
  • Programmable frame rate and resolution
    (1,004 x 250 x 12 bits with more than 170 frames/s)
  • Pre-exposure, double exposure
  • Flash output
  • Dynamic range selectable (1,0 or 0,45)
  • 1 Million Gate FPGA / 32 Bit Risk Processor
  • Camera Link interface
